High quality services

Our Support Services Include:

  • A unit which accommodates no more than four or five young people. This ensures that the quality of our service is maintained within the unit and the young person can benefit from a tailored and specialised support.
  • A customisable service to meet the complexity of the individual needs when required.
  • The placements that we accept will be matched to the other young people within the unit to ensure positive relationships.
  • The young person’s achievements and successes will be celebrated to encourage their development and boost their self-esteem.

Accommodation

All bedrooms are fully furnished, with a bed, wardrobe, television, desk, chair, a set of bedding and a towel. The units have wireless internet connection available throughout for use by residents.

Units

We have three units, one that accommodates young people aged 16 to 18, which is staffed 24 hours per day, and another unit that accommodates service users between 18 and 25 years of age. This unit is also staffed 24 hours a day and provides staff that are awake during the night.

Our third unit accommodates service users who are preparing to live on their own and need only minimal support from staff. In this instance we provide floating support as and when required.

Food and Drink

In the units where we provide catering, our chef uses fresh local produce to provide a wonderful choice of meals daily. Residents may choose where they take their meals, be it in the privacy of their own room or together with other residents (and often friends and relatives) in the kitchen-dining room.

Personalisation

The young people who are placed with Beam Support will benefit from access to professionals according to their needs and interests. Each young person will receive, depending on their category of risk, a minimum of 5, 7, 14 or 21 hours per week in the context of 1 on 1 dedicated support and guidance which will enable them to reach their full potential as individuals.

The unit provides laptops to enable residents communicate regularly with relatives, or the professionals, via services like Skype, WhatsApp, Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
