About Us

A family environment

Our Mission

Our mission is to support young people between the ages of 16 to 25 years old in reaching their full potential in life. We do this by providing young people with an enabling family environment which will support them to feel cared for, in safe residential units, so that they can gain independent living skills in order for them to become productive members of society.

The support team incorporates fully vetted professionals who work collaboratively to ensure that we provide an enabling family environment to help the young people who are placed with us.

Our Development Strategy

Beam Support’s developmental strategy not only incorporates a fully vetted team of professionals such as educators, mentors and keyworkers who collectively provide 24 hours supervision within the unit, but we also provide a nurturing environment which supports a stimulating family environment.

The young people within our unit are provided with opportunities for developing their full potential. Their development covers areas which include, but are not limited to, their emotional health, physical health, education and training, healthy social interactions and independent living skills, such as budgeting, shopping, managing bank accounts, cooking, cleaning and personal hygiene.

Social interactions are encouraged through activities such as meeting with friends, playing board games with other young people within the unit, table tennis, playing musical instruments, going to the cinema, or attending local clubs and unit outings.

Our Staff

Our Mentors

Our mentors are experienced in working with young people, helping them to gain confidence and independence in a caring and understanding environment.

Our Keyworkers

Our keyworker approach is to provide practical and emotional support that fosters trusting relationships between the keyworkers and the young people. Thereby enabling the young people with confidence which builds their self-esteem and helps them achieve the best outcomes.

The young people who are placed with Beam Support have access to the different professionals according to their needs and interest. Each young person receives a minimum of 10 hours per week, in 1 on 1 support and guidance in the areas outlined above. This further enables the young people reach their full potential as individuals.

Our Unit

Our unit in located in Harrow. Harrow is a leafy suburb of London and it is very cosmopolitan and can trace its roots back as far as King Henry VIII who spent considerable time here. This area of London offers beautiful scenery.

Harrow is 15 minutes away from Central London on the Metropolitan line from Harrow on the Hill tube station. There are a number of other options which include buses and trains, beauty shops, hairdressers, barbers, the cinema and shopping.

Our unit is located close to schools, Colleges of Further Education, Westminster University, Northwick Park Hospital, St. Anne’s and St. George’s shopping centre and a number of gyms. There is access nearby to parks and space to ride bikes and play football.

Within our semi-independent unit, each young person has their own bedroom with sufficient space to relax, play games or study. They have access to a shared kitchen, shared toilet and bathroom, a shared dining area and a lounge. There is also a second toilet on the ground floor and a staff only toilet on the second floor.

As part of progression within our establishment once the young person has reached the stage that we feel they no longer need 24-hour support they can be moved to a more independent environment within a shared flat. The keyworker support that young people receive in this accommodation is customised to the specific need of the individual.
